Dr. Syed Ziaur Rahman is currently the Head of Scientific Research department and Faculty in Department of Information Technology at College of Applied Sciences-Ibri, Ministry of Higher Education, Sultanate of Oman. He is a Professional member of International Association of Engineers (IAENG) and Life Member of ISTE(India). He is the Certified External Reviewer for Accreditation bodies and officially trained on Intellectual Property Rights.
Syed Ziaur Rahman has been involved with the field of Computer Science and Systems Engineering in both Industry and Academia since 16 years. He holds a PhD in Computer Science and Systems Engineering and Topper (Gold Medalist) in Master program (M.Tech – CSE) of JNTUniversity, India. His early career, in industry at SIEMENS and Infosys Technologies as a software engineer includes development of real time solutions for communication systems and as a consultant for Enterprise Resource Planning.
From 2005, Syed has been working in Higher Education institutions in both India and Gulf (Saudi Arabia & Oman) in many positions which include Head of Information Technology department & Head of Foundation Studies in JNTUniversity –MLEC Campus India, ABET Accreditation Committee Member in King Faisal University Saudi Arabia and as a Faculty & Quality Assurance Expert in CAS-Ibri Oman. In addition to being instrumental in developing and offering the degree programs in Computer and Information systems, Syed was nominated by MOHE as a member in developing the Strategic Plan (2015-2020) and a large number of policies for the Colleges of Applied Sciences (CAS) in Oman.
Dr. Syed has a long association with Quality assurance of higher education in India, Saudi Arabia and Sultanate of Oman. In 2007, he was responsible for preparing and directing the Information Technology department in MLEC Campus of JNTUniversity-India towards achieving accreditation from National Board of Accreditation(NBA) and satisfying the requirements of the
National Qualification Framework of the University Grants Comm
